Do you feel that the movie set out to recreate or aim to adapt the book?
I feel that the movie aimed to adapt the book, and there are only a few slight changes between the two.
What approach would you have taken if the task of filming the book had been your responsibility?
I would have aimed to adapt the book just as the director had done. If the task was my responsibility I think that my film would be similar to the film itself already.

Two memorable scenes
The Accident.
Charlie and Sam leave the house when they were told to stay home. Sam distracts Charlie as he is driving causing a dramatic crash, leaving the two dead, but Charlie is the given another line of life.
This scene is one of the most memorable as this is the outline to the rest of the movie.
Sam disappears into the light.
Charlie breaks his promise as he knows he must find Tess in order for her to survive. Sam waits but Charlie never comes. He then knows it is time for him to go and walks into the light. His spirit then leads Charlie to Tess.
This scene is another memorable scene as it is Charlie's big decision to fight for the girl he loves or his little brother. It is also a special scene as Charlie is happy to see Sam's spirit as he knows he will be happy in his afterlife.
